Dear Friends of Centralparks,

Welcome to the Interreg Centralparks project newsletter. The Centralparks team will regularly email readers stories and insights about the project.

The Carpathians belong to the most important European eco-regions, however, biodiversity loss and increasing pressures threaten its outstanding natural values. Traditional approaches to resource management and nature conservation are no longer sufficient to guarantee long-lasting economic benefits and provision of ecosystem services. The Centralparks project will support nature protection and local sustainable development, improve integrated environmental management capacities and policies, enhance transnational cooperation, and mitigate current threats and pressures to biodiversity. The project will reconcile nature conservation and local socio-economic development, as well as raise support and involvement of local communities.

We're very excited to launch this newsletter and share with you the interesting updates in the Centralparks project region. To kick-start, scroll down and read what happened since the project has begun.
